Centex Homes (Southeast Florida Division) has recently installed the KVAR energy saving device (inductive equipment energy saving unit) on our Emerald Bay Model at our premier community in Wellington, Florida. Our decision to install the KVAR unit was based on a need to reduce power consumption at our model.
I was present at the installation which took a total of fifteen (15) minutes. Although not required, our electrical contractor installed the KVAR unit. We conducted a timed test of the revolutions of the FP&L electric meter and found, after a few mathematical calculations, that a reduction in power consumption was at six (6) percent. This is a significant savings when you consider that our model air conditioners run twenty four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week at a lower cooling temperature than a typical residential housing.
At present, we are sizing a unit to be installed at our Corporate Headquarters in West Palm Beach, Florida and we will be installing additional KVAR units in our remaining models throughout Martin, Palm Beach, Broward and Dade Counties. Savings of a minimum of six (6) percent per model at over twenty five (25) models does represent a cost saving opportunity to Centex Homes.

I just want to tell you how wonderful your Residential KVAR Power Factor Optimizer is for me and others. As you already know I am so very impressed with the potential of your product that I became a Dealer. After purchasing your product I called some friends and explained the function and purpose of the KVAR to them over the phone. They were so impressed with my faith and knowledge in your product that they asked me to procure the KVAR for them as well. As of this letter I have installed the KVAR on their homes and business and they are not disappointed.
On my personal home I recorded a 24.3% reduction in electrical usage the instant that I turned the KVAR unit on as installed into my electrical power system. I was able to determine this by taking amperage readings of the power supply before and immediately after energizing the KVAR. The whole process of connecting the KVAR and verifying the power values took less than 15 minutes.
One of the installations that I did for a friend was at a Chiropractic office. After making the required installation and taking down the power values I determined that there was a 12% reduction in consumption for the computers, lighting, gas furnace, washing machine and medical electrical apparatus. This did not include the X-ray equipment that was not being used at the time. I am sure that the power savings will amount to more than the initial 12% that I recorded when they receive their first power bill. I have also advised them to get rid of the spot/flood lights that they use in favor of more economical fluorescent lamps.
Another installation took place in a horse barn. The owner has been experiencing problems during peak demand of over loading his power supply and causing the main breaker to trip off due to high amperage demand. He has only 100 amps of capacity in his power panel and rewiring his service for 200 amps would have cost an estimated $2,500.00. It would have entailed putting in a completely new underground service line, new electrical power panel, new main disconnect and the labor. By installing the KVAR on his main power panel I was able to reduce his power use by about 30%. This will allow him to increase his capabilities and still remain below the 100 amperes of his service. By installing the KVAR I saved him well over $2,000.00 by not having to replace his service plus the month to month savings on his utility bill.
On the other installations I saved the owners from 8 to 15% and advised them that changing their incandescent light bulbs to the new fluorescent lamps would save them even more on their electric bills.
